I came to the United States with nothing but a work ethic and a determination to build something real. I started in construction — doing the work, learning the trade, understanding what it takes to run a crew, manage clients, and keep a business moving forward.
Over time, I built North Heritage Construction Corp — a Greater Boston contractor business that I still own and operate today. Running that company taught me something most web designers will never understand: the difference between a website that looks good and a website that actually brings in customers.
My construction company has served Greater Boston for years. Building Mendes Design Co is an extension of that same drive — bringing the same standards of quality and reliability to web design and SEO.
I got into web design and SEO because I needed it myself. I couldn't find an agency that understood what contractors and small business owners actually needed — they all talked about design trends and brand identity while I was trying to get the phone to ring.
So I learned it myself. And now I do it for other businesses like mine.
